- New for March -
The new pieces for March are filled with aqua stones and plenty of circles. You’ll find March’s birthstone, Aquamarine, in abundance along with other aqua-hued stones like Labradorite, Fluorite, Larimar, Chalcedony and Jade. There are also some warmer Quartz and Topaz gems to balance out the cool blue tones. Layering the silver and combining different textures was another theme this month. I love the juxtaposition of smooth metal next to the other textures.
I had a lot of fun creating the new pieces for March. After a busy holiday season combined with Valentine’s Day, this was my first chance to really sit down and “play” with some new ideas and techniques. Once things settle down a little this time of year, it allows more time for creative work. My sketchbook was filled with more sample ideas, scribbles, and notes than usual. Not every idea made the final cut, but some might be adapted for future collections.
