About
Hi, I’m Katherine Wise. I am a metalsmith, mother of two young boys, and a lover of all things creative. I work out of a small studio in Pennsylvania where I create unique jewelry out of silver, gold, and natural stones. I carefully create each piece one-at-a-time with quality in mind. It is my goal that my designs will last a lifetime and will be cherished for many years to come.
When I’m not working with metal, you’ll most likely find me cooking, spending time outdoors, and enjoying time with my family.
Before becoming a metalsmith and small business owner, I was an elementary and high school Visual Arts teacher for 13 years for Pennsylvania public schools. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education from Penn State University.
I started creating and selling jewelry part-time in 2008. For the next 12 years, my love of working with metal grew. Then in 2020 I transitioned from teaching to being a full-time metalsmith.
Working with raw materials like metal, stone, and clay to create functional art has always been one of my favorite activities. I feel so fortunate that metalsmithing is my job, and I am truly grateful to all of my customers for supporting me all these years.
Beyond the studio…I am married to my amazing husband, Mike, who is an incredible artist and K-12 Art teacher. We have two beautiful and lively sons who fill our days with excitement. Most days you will find at least one of my boys sitting on my lap at the workbench “helping” create jewelry.
